Palais Kinsky is a fantastic looking Baroque palace originally built for Count Wirich Philipp Von Daun then passed onto the Kinsky family of Bohemia. Constructed between 1713 and 1719 its beautiful yellow and white facade is very photogenic indeed and adds to the joy of visiting Freyung Square. Not long after Daun's death, the family sold the palais, which eventually came into the ownership of Countess Rosa Kinsky toward the end of the 18th century. And thus we have the origins of the palais names, since you'll find the building referred to as both Palais Kinsky or Palais Daun-Kinsky.
